Prior to practicing law, Matt worked as a manager with a large non-profit fundraising company, which taught him the value of working efficiently under tight budget constraints – a skill that serves him (and his legal clients) quite well.
“As a trial lawyer, my goal is to provide the most effective assistance possible in the most efficient manner possible. As far as I’m concerned, the truest measure of success is not how a matter is resolved, but how satisfied my client is with the resolution. Simply put, business disputes happen… and when they do, I work very closely with my clients to create innovative resolution strategies, because most often, the best solution is not the one that’s the most obvious, so it takes combined creativity to uncover that solution most efficiently. My clients can count on me to be a creative advocate, but also one who is relentless and tireless”
“For my corporate clients, most legal issues, particularly disputes, are a distraction from their business. I want them to feel secure entrusting their legal issues to Foltz Martin, so that they can focus on business – not legal distractions. So I see myself in the dual roles of advocate and counselor, helping my clients find the hidden opportunities that will enable them to improve internal systems and processes so that they can avoid potential disputes.”
Before joining to Foltz Martin, Matt worked as a staff attorney at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Matt lives with his wife and daughter in Atlanta. He writes poetry and is currently learning to play the piano.
